HISTORY

Irv Rondberg Company, Inc. served retailers, manufactures and distributors with all their price marking and merchandising needs since 1972. A family owned and operated business, Irv Rondberg Company, Inc grew and changed with the times. Irv started as a representative for Garvey Price Marking Company. Covering the Missouri territory he went store to store selling labels and label guns from a stocked van. He introduced retailers to the first price marking gun on the market.

After many years with Garvey Irv decided it was time to become his own boss. He acquired a distributorship with Monarch Marking and grew the business from the basement of his home to a full office, warehouse, and loading dock with several men in vans covering the entire Midwest region. Monarchs yellow 1110 price gun was all the rage and Irv and his staff added merchandising signs, case cutters, and other items to help retailers make their job easier. As more manufactures came into play Irv expanded his line to include Sato, Meto, Primark and Garvey price guns, labels and supplies.

Irv Rondberg Company, Inc. dba Midwest Marking was run by Genny Rondberg President & CEO. After Irv's passing in 1985 Genny continued to grow the business. With the help of her daughter Marilyn Elkin Vice President is in charge of daily operations the family business continued to thrive. Genny decided it was time to retire in Janaury 2011. Marilyn has changed the name of the company to The Barcode Lady LLC but has taken with her the product knowledge and family business ethics.

Although we service government agencies, universities and nonprofit organizations, our niche market is and has always been the small and medium size business owners. We are just the right size to offer these companies the personal service they deserve and product prices the big boys get. We buy by the case and sell by the box and case. We are a stocking distributor for all brand price marking guns & labels as well as barcode labels and ribbons.
